Early April Hues

Time really flies and before we know it, it’s already April and our 3rd month in Singapore! We still remember the day when we were very excited and a bit afraid about starting life in another country — but this is another story for another post. We’ve been busy building the nest too for the past months, slowly progressing with filling in the house and make it super comfortable — there will be a post on the design thinking and furniture procurement too; hopefully in the near future! For now, let us share some snippets of the lovely hues we’re getting from some corners of the house.

We’ve really been letting loose lately on introducing some vegetation in the house and besides the plants in the balcony we’ve really been enjoying decorating some corners with lively flowers such as this one!

Found very pretty tulips at the flower market.

We decided to do an easy 7km walk down at MacRitchie Reservoir on a lovely Saturday morning. It was the last day before we started fasting for Ramadan so it was a good chance to squeeze in a little exercise before all the fatty food we know we will be consuming throughout the month. Weather at the reservoir was pleasant too; many were out and about as the Covid19 precautions are less stringent now and folks was taking advantage by going for a good walk. We also found it pleasantly surprising that just across the street was actually the Far East Flora complex — we get some of our plants from here and apparently they had quite a good section specific for flowers. They’re pretty fresh and all quite beautiful choices.

Absolutely in love with this combination of new sustainably certified teak table and vintage chairs.

Excited to start filling up this lovely bookshelf.

We’ve been blessed with really good light these past couple weeks, making some favorite corners of the house absolutely stunning. So happy we spent the time and effort to literally curate every single detail.

Let’s end here for now. How’s 2022 treating you so far? Hopefully as some of the world start to heal while we pray for the resilience of people in economic crises, armed conflicts, etc. — we continue to be able to find that source of happiness. This could be a place to call home, heartwarming food, and spending more time for yourself and loved ones.
